The instrument is a registered trade-marked ‘MEGGER,’ No 341951. Printed above the scale: “Made in England by Evershed and Vignoles Ltd.” Printed below the scale: “F.G. No. 341951”.

Condition:

Excellent. Slight rip and cracking of leather strap.

Historical Notes:

Sydney Evershed and Ernerst Vignoles founded Evershed & Vignoles Ltd on February 5th 1895. They constructed the first portable insulation tester. The MEGaohm metER was then named a MEGGER, which became a trademark name in 1903.
