Kleinsasser Laryngeal Scissors (Storz)

A pair of long surgical scissors (model 8589A). The handle has two finger loops and terminates in a long, narrow stem with a scissor tip.

This artifact is in excellent cosmetic condition and appears functional. It was received with a patch of dried grey material (likely a temporary adhesive) on one part of the handle. This was removed.

Provenance:

The Robert W. Jackson Arthroscopy Collection was acquired by the University of Toronto from Dr. Jackson’s family on November 12th, 2020.

This artifact was inserted into 2020.JAC.15 (170° O’Connor Operative Arthroscope) when it was received. However since the scissor tip did not reach the opening of that instrument, it was assumed that the two items do not belong together.
