Box Containing Metal Frames

This is a wooden box with a hinged lid that flaps open. It contains six wooden slots. Four of these slots contain aluminum frames which consist of an rectangular space into which something can be fixed. Each of these is numbered differently on a short handle that sticks out of the slot: “6560”, “6600”, “6650”, “6700”.

The box has a metal and plastic carrying handle.

Excellent: The box is in excellent condition. However, its latch is missing. Two of the frames are missing. The remaining ones are in excellent condition, with little sign of wear or use.

This object was likely moved from the David Dunlap Observatory in Richmond Hill in 2008, upon the sale of the observatory. It was stored at the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics until 2017, when it was moved to a new storage location in McLennan Physical Laboratories.
