This instrument is used to display temperature as recorded from the tip of a probe. Temperature change can be recorded over time by attaching a recording instrument.
This example was likely used to regularly or continuously obtain accurate body temperatures of anesthetized patients.
This artifact has substantial wear on its outer surfaces, especially on the edges. There are heavy scratches on the top surface; The plastic cover is missing from the knob on its front face. This artifact does not have its temperature sensing probe.
