A beige plastic instrument with a telephone receiver. Its front surface has a speaker behind a plastic grille above a console with a series of grey buttons. The telephone console is attached to the main unit with a coiled cord. A cable at the rear of the unit is terminated with a six-pronged plug.

The console of the unit has an black embossed label with the number “163”. A second brown paper label on the console has the same number marked in black.
The following number is moulded into the bottom surface of the artifact: “312316”.
A silver label on the bottom surface of the artifact includes the following information: “CODE DEE 12102”; “No 16”
Stamped in black ink on the bottom surface of the artifact: “7236 79337”
Dimensions (cm): Height = 10; Width = 23; Length = 27.
Function:
The artifact appears intact. Its surface is slightly dirty and scuffed in places. The cord is especially dirty; its outer surface may be deteriorating.

The Mount Sinai Pathology Lab collection was transferred from a display case on the 6th floor of Mount Sinai Hospital (600 University Ave. Toronto, On) over several days in mid-December 2020.
