Internal Intercom Extension (Ericsson)

An off-white artifact with an unusual angled shape. The instrument has a grille-covered speaker and a black push-button telephone dial on its face. A black cord terminated in a six-pin plug is attached to the rear of the unit.

Two plunger-type elements at the base of the artifact are depressed when the unit is set on a surface.

A white label on the front of the unit has the following handwritten information: “#158// Rm 614”

This artifact appears to be intact. It has small patches of dirt in various cracks and recesses. There are several small dark marks on the left side of the artifact.

Provenance:

The Mount Sinai Pathology Lab collection was transferred from a display case on the 6th floor of Mount Sinai Hospital (600 University Ave. Toronto, On) over several days in mid-December 2020.
