A small (16.5 cm tall) mechanical stamping instrument. The main body of the instrument has a brown finish. A brown bulb at the top is a handle that, when depressed, creates an ink impression on the surface below and advances the mechanism. A switch on the front of the instrument permits the user to select “consecutive”, “repeat”, or “duplicate” numbering.

This instrument makes stamped impressions of sequences of numbers. Depending on the setting, pushing the plunger on the instrument will create an inked impression and advance the mechanism to the next number.
The paper instruction sheet is yellowed and damaged but legible.
This instrument appears to be intact and functional. There a very minor scratches on the polished surfaces of the instrument.

The Mount Sinai Pathology Lab collection was transferred from a display case on the 6th floor of Mount Sinai Hospital (600 University Ave. Toronto, On) over several days in mid-December 2020.
The Department of Psychology collection includes a second example of this instrument (2011.psy.51) along with the original packaging and ink.
