A small instrument with a rectangular footprint with a black textured finish. An electrical cord is attached to the top side of the instrument. A metal faceplate on the top face of the instrument contains two knobs, a power switch, and a round hooded window. There are two electrical terminals on the front side of the instrument, presumably to attach the electrical leads that contact the test sample. A metal data table is attached to the left side of the instrument.

Dimensions (cm): Height = 7.5, Width = 12, length = 20.
Thus instrument measures the concentration of salt in a liquid. It may have been used to test the purity of distilled water used in the laboratory.
This item is on good cosmetic condition, with very small patches of rust. The plastic lining on the electrical lead has become brittle and is cracking in places.
